Anyways, to help put things back on track, Maro and Mari's design had their character design refreshed! This was made using the 8bit maKer Picrew designed by 엑스트라A!
Did I mention wanting to continue developing this project? Well, that was before a global pandemic hit and life as we all knew with forever changed. So basically, that set us back on that plan in last year's update. Sorry! 😅 Anyways, to help put things back on track, Maro and Mari's design had their character design refreshed! This was made using the 8bit maKer Picrew designed by 엑스트라A! That's it for now! Let's see if I can share more updates within this year.

It's been a while that I worked on my UTAU UST, Tuning: Syphn Mixing: randsss Hello! Can you believe the last update here was about 28 months ago?
Admittedly, this project has been on and off active development due to unforeseen circumstances. This includes taking a career opportunity that made me move to a larger city and settling down back in 2018. I had made a resolution this 2020 to set more time for my hobbies and interests and hence, started to reconnect (for the third time) with the vocal synth community. That being said, I'll be picking up where I last left off and hopefully, I can make a new update for VrmL! After several issues with moresampler's VCV oto generation, I've decided to re-do the base oto with SetParam and it's much more easier to work with when it comes to tweaking the parameters. Personally, I also like that I can edit the configuration from SetParam itself rather than opening up UTAU.
With this development, hopefully, I can have Maro Wajima VCV ready before the year ends. After four years, Maro's getting a backstory!! Actually, I already published it on the UTAU Wiki and on UtaForum some days ago but I forgot about publishing it here, so the following is the story behind Maro Wajima! Western Name: Maro Wajima Eastern Name: 和嶋マロ Name Guide: ワジ マ・マロ Release Date: April 30, 2013 Gender: Male Age: 17 Likes: Data Processing Dislikes: Errors Character Information (based on a true story): A personified computer program, with codename: 'VrmL-00', capable of artificial inteliigence (A.I.) which was developed to assist his master and sing songs. He was later given the name: 'Maro Wajima'. However, after only a few months since his creation, he was left untouched and unused and was eventually sent to storage. He was recently awakened on July 25, 2017 when he found himself in a new home after being downloaded from storage by his master. He apologized for neglecting Maro and promised that he will be updated soon and perhaps be brought into the real world someday. So, what do you think? It's based on what happened to him since he was developed up to his state as of the present time! Of course, this story continues as development progress on my end as his "master". Anyways, I'll his profile up on the home page (which you probably saw already!)
Hey everyone! It's been a while. For today's update, I'd like to introduce a timetable which serves as a guide for what I would hope to accomplish for this month. Please note that said timetable may be subjected to changes.
With that, here's the to-do list of the VrmL UTAU Project for August!
As you may have noticed, The Arpasing development wilt be put on hold until September in order to focus more on the VCV so that things will go more smoothly. Nevertheless, rest assured that the I'll be remaining active on UTAU. Well, that's about it for this update, Until next time!
Well since my first attempt at VCV didn't went well, I tried this song instead on my existing CV voicebank! That's the sound I used to know four years ago! I'll fine tune it soon! Did I also mention I really like Giga's songs?

UPDATE: Here's the completed cover!
Folks, I think we've hit a snag. It appears I have made the same mistake again when I was recording a beta version of Maro's CV bank. Because of this, Maro can't actually hit any notes higher than the 3rd octave. With this development, the VCV voicebank creation is back to square one and will move on to version 0.2a as I will have to re-record all the voice samples. This time in a higher pitch which I have done to remedy the problem in the past.
In the meantime, I'm currently working on a new cover using the CV voicebank and will also continue working on the Arpasing oto. As mentioned last time, Maro will soon have a Japanese VCV and an English Arpasing voicebank! To reflect these developments, some updates were made particularly in the downloads page:
In line with the revival of the VrmL UTAU Project, I am pleased to announce that two new voicebanks are currently in development as of this time as alpha versions. Recording of the samples have been finished will soon undergo the process of being oto'ed.
These voicebanks are an updated Japanese voicebank which was recorded using VCV samples and for the first time, Maro will soon be able to sing in English which was recorded using Arpabet samples (Arpasing). As this is my first time to develop such voicebanks, it will take some time before it reaches beta development. Luckily, the UTAU community has plenty of resources available which are helpful in learning how create new voicebanks (as well as re-learning those what I had known the last time I used UTAU). In the meantime, there may also be a possibly that I will introduce updates on the currently available Japanese CV voicebank if need be. As always, stay tuned for updates! |
